Welcome to Zest Harbourside
At Zest Harbourside Cafe, we offer an ultimate snacking menu in a casual setting. Perfectly located, with ample parking and superb panoramic views of Whitehaven Harbour and Marina. With our relaxed atmosphere, friendly service and great food, you won't be disappointed.
We have tried to create an informal restaurant that has something for everyone. It has a casual vibe, serves food all day every day and caters to a range of tastes and budgets. We hope that we have provided a menu that suits every different occasion, from coffee and cake, a quick bite to eat with the children to a more celebratory meal with friends and family.
We even cater for your canine friends. Zest Harbourside is dog friendly, we have water bowls and biscuits for your dog. So fetch them in (get it), they love it.
A little bit of history
Husband and wife team Emma and Ricky Andalcio met whilst working in the catering industry in London. They decided to leave London behind to open their own business in Emma's home town of Whitehaven. Their first restaurant, Zest Restaurant was converted from an old pub and opened in February 2000. After it's great success the couple decided to expand their business. Emma and Ricky thought there was a gap in the market for a restaurant that was a little more casual. So, they by purchased a harbour-front disused fish warehouse and turned it into a family friendly, casual bar-café. Zest Harbourside opened in November 2002. Both restaurants have enjoyed great success due to the quality of Zest's food, friendly customer service and Zest's varied and unique style.
The original Zest Restaurant served its last meal tothe public in January 2017, but Zest Harbourside continues to go from strength to strength.
Coast to Coast Cycle Route
Whitehaven is also one of the official starting points of the world renowned Coast To Coast cycle route from Sustrans. As Zest Harbourside is right at the beginning (or end) of the route, our restaurant is an official stamping point. Why not pop in to pick up your stamping cards or to get them stamped... (for you early birds - if we are out of official opening hours, our staff will still be happy to give you your stamps - just knock and ask) Otherwise, why not just pop in for a coffee and tell us how your journey is going.
